If I am a vegan and don't eat foods that contain animal products, what can I eat in the residence dining rooms?
We have at least one vegan option available at both lunch and dinner in all of our dining rooms. Some of these choices include African Potato Stew, Caribbean Rice and Tofu Wraps. In fact, there are over 50 vegan selections available over the course of a semester. We also have soy and rice milk, sorbets and vegan desserts available, and each dining room has an extensive salad bar featuring tofu, beans, and/or nuts for protein.
I have a food allergy - what do I do?
Make an appointment with the dietitian by calling 617-353-2721. We will help you determine which foods on the menu have the ingredients you must avoid to stay healthy. Also, you can speak to a manager or employee in any of our dining locations and ask how items are made and with what ingredients.
How can I make sure I am eating healthy?
Visit USDA MyPyramid to learn more about the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005. Eat a variety of foods from all groups. Make sure you eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack daily. And make an appointment with the dietitian to review your dining habits and daily diet.

Eating whole grains helps with weight management by keeping you feeling full longer, provides you with more nutrition for fewer calories and helps you sustain your energy.
Do I really need to eat fruits and vegetables?
Eating a colorful variety of fruits and vegetables not only gives you important nutrients you can't get from other foods, it also fills you up with fewer calories.

I skip a number of meals because I can't make it to the dining room. What can I do?
