Food Allergies

Each year, hundreds of freshman report having food allergies ranging from moderate to severe. Boston University Dining Services takes food allergies very seriously and we’re happy to work with you and make sure you are comfortable eating the foods we prepare.

Our residence dining rooms do not cook with nuts or peanut oil. The only exception is when we have a special guest chef or guest restaurant on campus. This may happen once a semester and when this type of event occurs, all items are clearly labeled.

If you have a food allergy, are concerned about ingredients, or want to know how your food is prepared, please speak directly with a dining services manager or call the Nutrition and Fitness Center at 617-353-2721 to schedule an individual counseling appointment.
