You’re not In until you Check In…
The Foursquare phone app enables students and visitors to explore Dining on campus while sharing information with their friends about their favorite places.
With the addition of Dining’s branded page we’ve created a location for the community to gather, get information and share information such as best place to grab a bagel, best soup on campus, best place to people watch, or just the best place to hang with friends. Users can share “tips” and “lists” about locations and their experiences throughout their foursquare network as well as others such as Facebook and Twitter. You’ll also be able to find specials and discounts when users meet certain criteria, such as checking in during a certain time frame.
How to play: Download the Foursquare App on your smartphone, then travel around campus and let the world know where you’ve been, what you’ve eaten, who you’ve seen. Visit the Foursquare phone app page to learn more about using it on your phone.
The more places you go and the more times you visit, the more incentives you can receive, including chances to have a table reserved for you in the GSU, Rize, Late Night Kitchen, Marciano Commons or even discounts at Raising Cane’s and other locations.
Be sure you visit the BU Dining Service’s page on Foursquare
Being a “Mayor” at BU Dining pays off, there are lots of incentives such as your own table, discounted specials, notoriety, fame… O.k, we’ll stop there, but you get the picture, it’ll be pretty cool to stroll into the GSU and sit at your own table with a picture of yourself on the wall next to that table, right? Remember, the more you check in at a location the greater chance you have of becoming Mayor. Only users with a photo uploaded to their account (no faceless mayors) will be eligible, so you should upload a photo from the settings page.
