Lockers
The Student Affairs Office is responsible for assigning lockers to all DMD and Advanced Standing students.
How do I get a Locker?
Lockers are assigned automatically and students are informed of their assignment via email. Students are responsible for providing their own locks.

Students who illegally occupy lockers that have not been assigned to them will be in violation of GSDM’s Student Code of Conduct and will be required to meet with the assistant dean of students. They may also be brought before the Judicial Board, as this is an issue of ethics and professionalism, and will lose their spot in the Locker Lottery.
If there is a problem or concern with a locker, please contact Amy Nelson at 617-638-8411.
Locker Lottery
- Open to all DMD-4 and AS-2 students
- Lottery is for lockers located on the 3rd, 6th, and 7th floors of the dental school. Students will receive ONE small model locker and ONE regular size locker. Students who received a lottery locker will forfeit their previous locker assignment, and must relocate to their lottery locker in a timely manner.
- The Student Affairs Office will send out any information regarding the Locker Lottery, as it becomes available
Locker Sign-Out Procedure
Starting April 1, DMD-4 and AS-2 students who have been completely signed out of their clinicals by their professor will be able to complete the locker sign-out procedure.
The Student Affairs Office will contact students via email when they are able to schedule their sign-out session.
Prior to your scheduled appointment, students must complete the following:
- Clean out and lock your locker.
- Log in to SPS and verify that you have been signed out of your clinicals.
- The Student Affairs Office will NOT be able to sign you out of your locker until your professor enters the information in SPS (which may take a few days).
- If you arrive for your appointment and are not signed out in SPS, you will have to reschedule your sign-out session.
- A member of the Student Affairs Office staff will accompany each student to their locker and will inspect the locker.
- If the locker is cleaned out and the student has been signed out of all clinicals, the student will return to the Student Affairs Office and the sign-out session will be completed electronically.
- If your locker is not cleaned out, you will NOT be signed out and will have to reschedule your appointment.
