Dr. Figueroa graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry with a D.M.D degree in 1980. He then enrolled in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Certificate Program at the same University and completed this program with honors in 1983. Dr. Figueroa also subsequently obtained a Master’s Degree in Health Professional Education from the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas in 1998. He has previously served as full-time faculty at the Baylor College of Dentistry from 1996-1998 and at the Boston University School of Dental Medicine from 1999-2006. From 2006-2012, Dr. Figueroa worked in private practice in Orlando, Florida. He has been heavily involved in clinical research related to the fields of rapid surgical orthodontics, complex surgical implantology and dentoalveolar surgery and has contributed to the literature in multiple journals and textbooks. Dr. Figueroa has given numerous continuing education courses in the areas of dentoalveolar surgery, implantology and medical management of patients. His clinical interests include trauma surgery, complex surgical implantology and management of benign maxillofacial pathology.
