Richard D’Innocenzo

Assistant Dean for Medical Education; Clinical Professor of General Dentistry; Clinical Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. D’Innocenzo received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and his MD from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training in 1994 at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. D’Innocenzo joined the faculty of the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine/Boston Medical Center in 2006 after being full-time faculty at Tufts University for many years.   His areas of primary interests include Residency education, administration, ambulatory general anesthesia, treatment of maxillofacial pathology, and dental implantology. Dr. D’Innocenzo has published extensively and is the Co-Editor of a Textbook on Minor Oral Surgery.   He is involved in various Organized Dentistry professional associations at the regional and national levels. He is a Past President of the Massachusetts Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Past Chair of the American Dental Education Association Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery/Anesthesia/Hospital Dentistry. Additionally, Dr. D’Innocenzo has been a member of numerous AAOMS  committees including the Committee on Education and Training (CET)  and is Past President of the Massachusetts Society of Dental Anesthesiology. He routinely presents scientific abstracts and presentations at national meetings. He is also a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Diplomate of NBDA, Fellow American College of Dentists and Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
