Dental Assisting Training Program
This unique nine-week program is designed to prepare aspiring dental professionals to become Dental Assistants. With both in-person lectures and hands-on training, students will learn all aspects of the profession and be prepared to work as a dental assistant after program completion.

January 16 – March 14, 2024
June 10 – August 9, 2024
Full time: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm
(Program runs every January & June)

Rolling Admission: Recommended to start 6 months prior to the start date
January Applicants: December 1, 2023
June Applicants: April 1, 2024
Tuition
Total Program fee: $6,000 USD
Deposit upon acceptance: $300 (applied towards total program fee and non-refundable)
Application fee: $100 (required with application, applied towards total program fee and non-refundable)
- 50% of total tuition ($3,000) is to be received at least 3 months prior to the first day of class. Remaining balance is to be received 1 month prior to first day of class.
- Payment can be made by credit or debit card via phone, through payment portal upon acceptance, or by mailing a bank check to Continuing Education made payable to: GSDMCE

- Radiology Certification for Dental Auxiliaries (need to pass state exam)
- Basic Life Support Certification (need to pass American Heart Association exam)
- National Entry Level Dental Assistant Certification Exams (NELDA)
- Radiation Health and Safety (RHS)
- Infection Control (ICE)
- Anatomy, Morphology & Physiology (AMP)
- Rotations
- General Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Periodontology & Implantology, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Endodontics, Radiology, and Sterilization.
- Infection Prevention and Control, Continuing Education Course
- AMP, RHS & ICE NELDA prep exams through DALE Foundation
- Hands-on experience with the Boston University Dental Assistants
- Assisting Boston University DMD students and Boston University Dental Assistants with patient care
Admissions Requirements and Key Information
- High school Diploma or its equivalence. Proof of graduation will be requested
- Program is catered to individuals changing careers to dental assisting or individuals directly out of high school looking to start their career
- This program is not recommended for past dental assistants or internationally trained Dentists
- The Dental Assisting Training Program (DATP) is available to individuals located, or those who intend to work as Dental Assistants, in Massachusetts. The clinical experience provided by the DATP meets the requirements necessary for initial licensure as a dental assistant trained on the job (OJT) in Massachusetts. Additional requirements for on-the-job training licensure include, but are not limited to, examinations, additional certifications, background checks, etc. This program does not meet the Massachusetts licensure requirements for the EDFA or CDA, and is not CODA accredited.
