Happy National Tooth Fairy Day: BU Alum and Children’s Book Author Created National Holiday Honoring Children’s Dental Health Month
Happy National Tooth Fairy Day! After publishing the children’s book “Mabel the Tooth Fairy and How She Got Her Job” in 2003, BU alum Katie Davis COM 81 wanted to promote her book in a way both honored the lore of the Tooth Fairy and created awareness for children’s dental health. This led to her creating the national holiday of Tooth Fairy Day for February 28.
Student Spotlight: Seven GSDM Students Awarded Grand Prize in 2023 American Dental Association Student Ethics Video Contest
A team of GSDM DMD/DMD AS students won the grand prize in the 2023 American Dental Association’s Council on Ethics, Bylaws, and Judicial Affairs’ Student Ethics Video Contest with their video “Undercover Dental Justice” which depicts a high-stakes sting operation that catches an unethical dentist in the act. This was the first grand prize win in this contest in GSDM history.

Don’t Scrap, Just Swap: Boston University Medical Campus First Children’s Clothing Swap Promotes Sustainability and Community
Erica Stocks, GSDM director of student affairs, created Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC) first ever children’s clothing swap as a sustainable and affordable initiative aimed at supporting BUMC families, notably pregnant and parenting students/residents, by providing a platform to exchange gently used children’s clothing.
