Areas of Support

Maintaining a competitive edge, no matter what the arena, takes investment. We are pleased at the support we receive from many sources, including companies like Dentsply Sirona and Nobel Biocare, and we are grateful for the generous and vital contributions we receive from our alumni and friends. Your donation can make a difference for current and future students, our faculty, and the local and global community. Please consider the following ways that you can have an impact at GSDM.

Highlighted Fund

Dr. Jonathan D. Shenkin, DDS, MPH Scholarship Fund

This new fund will provide annual scholarship awards to one or more deserving undergraduates at the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, with a preference for dental students with a demonstrated interest in health policy, health services research, or pediatric dentistry. This fund was started with initial support by Todd Shenkin, who gave in memory of his brother Dr. Jonathan Shenkin, a GSDM clinical professor of health policy & health services research, a Fulbright Scholar, and an expert on dental public health as it relates to children’s oral health both nationally and internationally.

Scholarships

One of our greatest need for donations is for scholarships. We currently offer both financial aid (need-based) scholarships and merit-based scholarships to assist our students with the rising cost of tuition, but our need for scholarships greatly outweighs our current capacity. Please consider a donation to one of these general funds or a specific program scholarship, or contact us about setting up your own named scholarship.

Annual Funds

Annual fund accounts give us a great deal of flexibility to use money where it is needed most in any given year. If a piece of equipment breaks, we can use funds to fix it, or we can use funds to cover the costs of sending residents to conferences, for example. The annual funds can provide resources for anything that might be needed by the school as a whole or by individual departments.

Building Expansion and Educational Enhancements

We have a long history of being a technologically advanced institution that attracts students who want to learn on the best available instruments in digital dentistry and, increasingly, AI. Facilities are an important part of the student experience, and thanks to on-going renovations (major portion completed in 2021), we can give our students and patients the best possible experience. These funds pay for the building renovation as well as the upgrades, and maintenance that are crucial to our success.

  • Building Expansion and Renovation Fund – naming opportunities within the building are still available*

Community Support

Our public clinic serves as a lifeline for many Bostonians who otherwise would not be able to seek oral health care.  Many patients fall between the lines of private and public health coverage and we aim to make sure all patients can be treated at the GSDM clinic without barriers to treatment.
