The Most Spectacular Show in Boston – Goldman Gala 2018

GoldmanGala2018_0349On Friday, April 6, 2018, students, residents, faculty, and staff from the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine gathered under the “big tent” at the 2018 Goldman Gala Spectacular held at the Fairmont Copley Plaza. Dean and Mrs. Jeffrey W. Hutter played hosts to the 530 guests who were treated to an evening of dining, dancing, and games all tailored to the chosen vintage circus theme.

As attendees strolled into the venue, they were greeted by performers including stilt walkers, a magician, and a contact juggler. Prominently displayed in the entryway was the tooth ice sculpture branded with the Boston University “BU” logo. There was even a custom-made Goldman Gala Spectacular wooden cutout, where gala-goers could pose as the circus ringleader and his/her lion.

After guests had mixed and mingled at the cocktail reception, they made their way to the ballroom where Dean Hutter welcomed them to the Gala. “Good evening everyone and thank you for attending our ninth annual Goldman Gala,” said Dean Hutter. “What a great way to end what has been a wonderful week and transformative time for our Henry M. As his remarks drew to a close, Dean Hutter acknowledged everyone’s cooperation in this transformative time for our School. “In closing, I would like for each of you to raise your glass as I toast to you my appreciation for all you have done in supporting our Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine as we now go forward with the addition and renovation construction project after our very successful groundbreaking.”

After dinner and dessert, the guests danced to the music of SOHO, had fun at the photo booth, mingled with the vintage circus talent, and enjoyed the rest of what turned out to be a truly wonderful and memorable event.
