GSDM Hosts Annual Holiday Party

Nearly 325 students, residents, faculty, and staff of Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) filled Hiebert Lounge on Monday, December 14, 2014, for the annual Holiday Party, hosted by Dean and Mrs. Jeffrey W. Hutter. The festivities were complete with dinner, dessert bar, live music, a photo booth, a gingerbread house contest, and raffle for prizes for both students/resident, faculty/staff.

Hiebert Lounge was bustling with activity, music, and merrymaking. The lounge was trimmed with festive decorations and the jazz ensemble from the BU College of Fine Arts provided lively, holiday-themed music. A crackling fireplace was projected on a screen as the beautiful Boston skyline was clearly visible in the distance.

A dessert table and hot chocolate bar were also a hit among the guests, who mixed and mingled with their fellow GSDM community members. An absolutely delicious dinner was catered by Chequers Café. Always a crowd favorite, the photo booth was available and stocked with reindeer antlers, Santa hats, mustaches, quirky signs, and other fun props.

The highlight of some attendee’s evening was the drawing of the raffle prizes, one of each item for a student/resident and one for a faculty/staff member. The winning raffle tickets were drawn by and the respective prizes were handed out by Dean Hutter. This year’s prizes were; an Amazon giftcard, an Oral-B Electric Toothbrush donated by Student Affairs, a BU sweatshirt also donated by Student Affairs, a Roku Premiere, Powerbeats 2 Wireless Headphones; and an Amazon Echo.

Dean Hutter also thanked everyone for attending the Holiday Celebration along with wishing everyone a very happy, healthy and safe holiday season and intersession break. “I always enjoy spending the holiday season with everyone in our GSDM family, and thank everyone for coming to celebrate with us.  For Mrs. Hutter and I, our annual holiday party provides an opportunity for us to thank everyone for all of their hard work and support during the past year.”
