Alumni Association Board Convenes At 2016 Yankee Dental Congress

A total of 14 members of the GSDM Alumni Board Members participated at the bi-annual Alumni Association Board Meeting

On Friday, January 29, 2015, the bi-annual Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine Alumni Association Board Meeting was held in the Constitution Room of the Seaport Hotel during the 2016 Yankee Dental Congress (YDC).

The bi-annual Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine Alumni Association Board Meeting included:

  • A welcome from Alumni Association Board President, and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of General Dentistry Dr. Bing Liu DSC 90 DMD 03.
  • An update on School news from Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter.
  • A presentation on GSDM’s International Elective Student Exchange Program from Professor in the Department of Health Policy & Health Services Research and Associate Dean for Global & Population Health Dr. Michelle Henshaw.
  • A Development and Campaign Update by Assistant Dean for Development & Alumni Relations Mr. Kevin Holland.
  • A presentation on the New York Study Club from Dr. Gary Nord DMD 10.
  • An update on Giving Day, which will take place on April 6, 2016.
  • An update on the Alumni Association’s by-laws.
  • The creation of a system for alumni award nominations.
  • A discussion about Alumni Weekend, which will take place from September 30 to October 2, 2016.
  • An update on GSDM’s Alumni Magazine, Impressions.

After the meeting, Alumni Association Board President Dr. Bing Liu thanked all those in attendance for their time and efforts and adjourned the meeting in time for everyone to attend the YDC alumni reception, also being held at the Seaport Hotel.

“I would like to extend my appreciation to all the alumni board members who attended the bi-annual alumni board meeting, and also those who could not attend,” said Dean Hutter. “The support of our alumni is vital to the continued success of the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.”
