The volunteers screened 27 people at NDEC. They also offered oral health promotion, education, age appropriate activities, and referrals. NDEC students are eligible to enroll in the Boston University Student Dental Health Plan.
GSDM participants included: Ingy Alhelawe DMD 15; William Alvarez, pre-dental student; Rushil Dang AS 15; Cassandra Fevelo DMD 15; Justine Karanian DMD 15; Linda Linsinbigler DMD 15; Ramandeep Samra DMD 15; Neelam Shah DMD 14; and Albert Song, pre-dental student.
“Thanks to everyone who volunteered, especially Ingy and Neelam for organizing the event on behalf of ASDA leadership,” said Kathy Lituri. “The NDEC Dental Health Fair is always a valuable learning experience not only for the people enrolled there, but for the participating students as well.”
Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter praised the volunteers for their continued participation in this important Fair. He said, “The students’ efforts at the NDEC Dental Health Fair epitomize the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine’s commitment to serving the dental health needs of our community.”
