Oral Health Promotion Director Kathy Lituri, Rushil Dang, and Marium Qureshi (both AS 15), volunteered at the Suffolk University Annual Health and Wellness Fair on Thursday, September 26, 2013.

The volunteers provided a wide range of oral health promotion, education, screenings, and referrals. Kathy, Rushil, and Marium fielded many questions of particular concern to college-aged students, including third molars, oral piercings, and tobacco use. They also explained how to access oral care through the Boston University (BU) Student Dental Health Plan. Suffolk University students are eligible for BU’s plan.

“Rushil and Marium did a terrific job addressing the oral health concerns of the Suffolk students,” said Kathy Lituri. “Many of the students were also interested in learning what it takes to be a strong applicant for dental school, so it was a valuable learning experience for them in that respect as well.”
