GSDM Rocks First Ever Battle of the Bands

On Saturday, April 20, 2013, Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine’s (GSDM) American Student Dental Association (ASDA) chapter hosted the first ever Battle of the Bands at the All Asia Bar in Cambridge. The two “battling” bands were GSDM’s Mental Blocks and The Most Incredible from the Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM).

The Mental Blocks band members are: Dr. Fred Harrington, Chris Bickford DMD 13, Michael Maya DMD 13, Shervin Tabeshfar PROS 13, and Habib Tarzi DMD 13.

The Most Incredible band members are: Mauro Caffarelli MED 15, Matt Kaufmann MED 16, Jason Kung MED 16, and James Reilly Jr. MED 14.

Antonio Maceda-Johnson DMD 15 organized the event, with assistance from Ingy Alhelawe DMD 14 and Keely Matheson DMD 15.

While both bands thrilled the crowd with their musical prowess, it was decided to forgo the competitive aspect of the evening and just let everyone enjoy the entertainment.

“Given that the Boston Marathon bombings and subsequent manhunt were so recent, we wanted to keep it friendly and just focus on spending time with our fellow students,” said Antonio Maceda-Johnson. “Everyone had a great time.”
