On Saturday, January 26, 2013, Clinical Instructor in the Department of Health Policy & Health Services Research Dr. Ana Keohane and Dental Assistant for School-Based Programs Joyce Ganas participated in the 2nd Annual Lawrence Oral Health Fair.
This year’s “Healthy Teeth, Healthy Families” Fair was organized by the Mayor’s Oral Health Task Force in response to a chronic need for low cost and no cost dental services in The Greater Lawrence area.
Dr. Keohane and Ganas distributed oral health information, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. Around 300 people of all ages attended the Fair.
Project Stretch provided dental screenings, sealants, and fluoride to roughly 75 people and provided 30 free cleanings.
“The opportunity to offer dental screenings through Project Stretch made a big difference,” said Dr. Keohane. “The fair was a great success.”
