joshua-quinby-200Joshua Quinby DMD 13 was recently selected to receive the 2012 Foundation Dental Student scholarship Award from the Pierre Fauchard Academy for demonstrating the greatest potential for development into an outstanding leader in the dental profession. Quinby was nominated for this award by Assistant Dean of Students Dr. Joseph Calabrese and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Cataldo Leone.

Quinby was selected for this honor because of his leadership and involvement in student activities and School committees. He has served as President of the DMD Class of 2013 for the last three years, taken an active role in ASDA, and been a contributing member of the following committees: Applied Strategic Planning Committee, White Coat Committee, Infection Control Committee, Medical Library Committee, DMD 2013 Social Committee, DMD 2013 Finance Committee, and the DMD 2013 Student Advisory Committee for Physiology, Microbiology and Biochemistry.

He also volunteers as a School tour guide and lunch host for prospective students and was a student host during the Mock Accreditation site visit.

Said Quinby, “It is a tremendous honor to receive the Pierre Fauchard Foundation Student Scholarship Award.” Quinby also mentioned how thankful he is to his wife, Wendy, and 11-month-old son, Dillon. He explained, “I live in a very small, 300 sq. ft., studio apartment with my wife and son. The support they provide me in our small space is the only reason I’m able to be such an active member of the Dental School.”

Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter said, “Joshua is very deserving of this honor. I was certainly proud to present this award to him on behalf of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.”
