Programs in Deaf Studies at BU
The BU Deaf Studies Program is one of the oldest and most renowned programs in deaf education. It is the only program in the United States dedicated to theoretical and applied research in deafness with a particular focus on a bilingual/bicultural approach to communication for the Deaf and for teachers of the Deaf.

The Deaf Studies Program offers graduate education training in Education of the Deaf (Ed.M.) and advanced training (Ed.D., Ph.D.) in literacy and language issues and the Deaf. An undergraduate program is offered leading to a degree in Deaf Studies. Also inside the Programs in Deaf Studies is the Center for the Study of Communication and the Deaf (CSCD).
