Student Support
One of our top priorities is to provide both undergraduate and graduate students with monetary support to ensure that our graduates do not enter their profession with significant amounts of education-related debt. We are able to support students by traditional means such as scholarships and awards. We also support our students with our innovative Book Awards Program, through which we will enable students to purchase textbooks and other supplies at the BU Bookstore. It is by these means of student support that we intend to lessen the financial burdens on our future educators, counselors, and administrators.
Renovating and Improving Student Spaces
SED is committed to maintaining its welcoming atmosphere by upgrading the student workspaces throughout the School. Students can always be found in the first floor snack and study area, the lobby areas, the student lounge, the Instructional Materials Center (IMC) and the Pickering Educational Resources Library. Because these areas are used frequently, some have become worn. Several of the spaces are in need of new furniture and repainting, and we hope to redesign others. SED is also committed to making these study spaces more useful by adding Ethernet hookups, which will allow students to use their laptops to do homework, work on papers, and practice PowerPoint presentations.
