SED Book Awards Program

SED alumni want to buy YOU textbooks and school supplies

Program:

• The awards are $500 ($200 for part-time students) redeemable at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore at Boston University, to be used to purchase textbooks and school supplies, including software.
• The awards will be granted to twenty students.
• The awards will be available for recipients prior to the spring semester.

Eligibility:

• Students must be enrolled at the School of Education.
• Students may be at the undergraduate (junior or senior) or graduate levels.
• The undergraduate recipients must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and the graduate level applicants must have a GPA of 3.5.
• The recipients must demonstrate a commitment to the University and the School.
• The recipients must complete and submit the application, including a short written piece and a faculty endorsement.
• Students are limited to two consecutive awards.

Process:

• Completed applications must be submitted directly to the Dean’s office by Monday, December 12, 2005.
• The Dean will select and announce the award recipients by e-mail and mail on Wednesday, December 21, 2005.
• The awards will be available for recipients prior to the beginning of the spring semester in the amount of $500 each.
• If a student does not use their allotted funds, access to the money will be frozen upon graduation.
