The Institute for Astrophysical Research (IAR) promotes and facilitates research and education in astrophysics at Boston University. IAR members carry out research in a wide variety of astronomical fields including star formation, the interstellar medium, galactic structure, stellar variability, active galaxies, high-energy astrophysics, galaxy clusters, gravitational lensing, and dark matter.
