Research
Guido Salvucci’s primary research is on vadose zone hydrology and hydroclimatology. Research focuses on soil moisture interactions with atmospheric water and energy balance and with groundwater flows. Active projects include: development of global scale water balance estimation techniques driven by satellite remote sensing; analysis of the spatial structure of hydrologic fluxes and water table elevations through saturated zone-unsaturated zone coupling; analysis of mechanisms responsible for scaling relations between hydrologic flux and soil moisture; impact of large-scale irrigation on boundary layer processes.
