Ashley Tibbets (B.A., 2007)

I'm currently working towards my PhD at UNLV with Eugene Smith. My research focuses on the petrogenesis of the Death Valley Volcanic Field and its relation to the Lunar Crater-Crater Flat Volcanic Belt and hazard assessment of the surrounding region. (7/22/2008)

Shelley Whitmeyer (Ph.D., 2007)

Since I graduated in January 2007, I have been working at James Madison University (http://www.jmu.edu/geology/). I have been teaching oceanography and earth systems, and doing some research on the Delmarva Peninsula. (7/22/2008)

Aaron Ferris (Ph.D., 2007)

Aaron is a seismologist at Weston Geophysical (Lexington, MA), where he conducts research in nuclear explosion monitoring. His focus includes seismic imaging and array processing methods, with an emphasis on understanding the seismic wavefield phenomena caused by interactions with lithosphere and upper mantle heterogeneity structure. Britt Argow (Ph.D., 2006)

Britt Argow is an Assistant Professor in the Geosciences Department at Wellesley College, and is also involved in the Environmental Studies Program.  She is having a great time teaching, working with undergraduate students, and continuing her research in salt marsh sedimentation processes, as well as adding new projects such as Carribbean beach morphology and sedimentology. Jennifer Wade (Ph.D., 2008)

Jenn utilized and developed microanalytical techniques to study bulk rocks, minerals, and melt inclusions in order to understand the transfer of volatile species and trace elements in subduction zones while at BU. Now a  Research Chemist at the Library of Congress, she is using her experience with micro-sampling and non-destructive analyses to develop new methods of studying national treasures and artifacts, including (among other things) daguerreotype photographs, ancient Mexican ceramics, and Japanese colorants.  Jenn's current email address is jwad@loc.gov.
