Luca Dal Negro,
Assistant Professor
I joined the ECE Department as Assistant Professor in January 2006. Previously I worked as a post doctotral associate at MIT.
I received my P.h.D. from the Physics Department at the University of Trento (Italy) with a Ph.D. thesis titled “Stimulated Emission and Photon Diffusion in Low Dimensional Silicon Structures”. My main research interests include : Optical amplification phenomena and laser physics, optical spectroscopy of semiconductor nanostructures, non-linear optics of nanomaterials, photonic crystals, light scattering and Anderson localization in aperiodic dielectric and metal/dielectric structures, fabrication of silicon-based nanostructures for silicon photonics.
