Bahaa Saleh receives the 2004 BACUS award
Bahaa Saleh, Professor and Chair of the ECE Department, was honored at the 24th Annual BACUS Photomask Technology Symposium, in Monterey, CA, as the recipient of the 2004 BACUS award.
BACUS, the former "Bay Area Chrome Users Society" and now part of SPIE, is the most influential international voice of the photomask industry, and their meeting was attended by about 1000 people, mostly from industry.
The BACUS award is presented annually to "an individual or individuals who have, through invention or other activity, made a significant impact on the technology of photomask making." Dr. Saleh was honored for his work on OPC (Optical Proximity
Correction, or the introduction of deliberate changes in the mask to equalize known optical error in the lithographic system). OPC has now become a mainstay for the huge photomask industry.
Congratulations to Dr. Saleh!
