Nick Cammarota COM Journalism 2009 I STAYED IN BAND FOR FOUR YEARS.... I was in band four years because it provided me the ideal opportunity to develop a tight-knit group of caring, intelligent, funny and energetic friends while allowing me to continue to play my instrument at a high level beyond high school. I believe that music is a fantastic part of our lives and to be able to provide that to spectators (and for ourselves within the band community) is something I will always value well after my time at BU. |
Alice Chiu CAS Psychology 2009 I STAYED IN BAND FOR FOUR YEARS.... I stayed in band for four years because I love band! I met most of my closest friends through band. The people in band are very enthusiastic and know how to have fun no matter the situation, whether it's putting on a field show in the pouring rain at Allentown, or continuing to cheer for our men's ice hockey team despite the fact that we were losing and greatly outnumbered by Michigan fans. |
Stephanie Halligan CAS International Relations 2009 I STAYED IN BAND FOR FOUR YEARS.... I was in band for 4 years because of the people. I can't say enough about the people in band. They're my friends, my family and the ones I spent the majority of my college experience getting to know and love. The trips were phenomenal, the music was fun and the thrill of performing lasted for four whole years... but the bandmembers I shared all of those experiences with are what I'll remember for a lifetime. |
Joseph Langlitz CAS Archaeology 2009 I STAYED IN BAND FOR FOUR YEARS.... I was in band for 4 years because I couldn't imagine doing an activity that would give me a better college experience at a school without a football team than doing marching band and playing an active role in representing the school spirit of Boston University. |
Philip Nichols CAS Computer Science 2009 I STAYED IN BAND FOR FOUR YEARS.... Because the band allowed me to escape from my everyday life and have fun making music with my best friends. |
Jessica Schwartz COM Public Relations 2009 I STAYED IN BAND FOR FOUR YEARS.... I did marching band all through high school and when I found out BU had a marching band, I didn't hesitate to sign up. After becoming part of the BU marching band family, it was impossible for me to leave. Some of my best times at BU were with the band. It has been a wonderful four years! |
Takao Yamada ENG Electrical Engineering 2009 I STAYED IN BAND FOR FOUR YEARS.... because all of my closest friends, people I will never forget, are all in band. Band is my stress reliever after long hours of lectures and homework. Band is also my ticket to the greatest marching shows and sporting events. If I did not do band for 4 years, I would regret it the rest of my life. |
