Graduate Program:

Post-BS PhD Program

Students coming straight from a BS degree to PhD Program must take at least eight structured courses (32 credits). Students also get credit for research, and must have a total of at least 64 credits to graduate. Four of the eight structured courses must come from the Core curriculum.

Required:

  • BE 505: Molecular Bioengineering I
  • BE 706: Quantitative Physiology for Engineers

Choose at least two:

  • BE 506: Molecular Bioengineering II
  • BE 567: Nonlinear Systems in Biomedical Engineering
  • BE 703: Numerical Models and Methods in Biomedical Engineering
  • BE 747: Advanced Signals and Systems in Biomedical Engineering

In addition to credit requirements, each student must successfully pass the qualifying exams, serve as a teaching fellow for one semester, and successfully propose and defend an original body of dissertation work.
