Timothy Cook

Associate Research Professor

Timothy Cook

Professor Timothy Cook specializes in developing novel instrumentation and data analysis techniques for use in ultraviolet astronomy and space physics. His current research includes sounding rockets and satellites such as SCARI. SCARI is an interferometric echelle spectrograph designed to measure emission from hydrogen moving through the solar system in order to learn about conditions in interstellar space around the sun.

Research Interests: Ultraviolet and soft x-ray instrumentation; tomography; interstellar medium; intergalactic medium; ionospheric remote sensing.
