Tito Gobbi: A Centenary Tribute, 1913 - 2013


This small exhibition, marking the centenary of the famed Italian baritone, features photographs of Tito Gobbi in a number of his signature operatic roles. Included are photographs from noted productions of Gobbi as the hunch-backed jester Rigoletto, Baron Scarpia from Tosca, with Maria Callas as the famous singer, Tosca; Tonio in Pagliacci, Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro, and as the elder Germont in La Traviata. Also on exhibition is an oil pastel sketch by Gobbi of the set design for Act I, Scene l of Verdi's Otello.

This exhibition will complement the Gotlieb Center's new online exhibition.
