The research mission of the Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology is the development and exploration of animal models and the study of selective human populations to understand cerebral systems in health and disease.
There are 16 research laboratories that form the core of our department. Our work is supported by over six different institutes of the NIH, NSF, Veteran's Administration, private foundations and industry.

You can learn about postdoctoral opportunities in our department by contacting the director of a laboratory that interests you. Postdoctoral fellows are integrated into all the activities of the department, and a number of our faculty members began with us as postdoctoral trainees. We have an NIH funded training grant that supports postdoctoral fellows interested in the neurobiology and neuropsychology of aging, and support is also provided through laboratory research grants and by sponsorship of individual postdoctoral fellowship applications.
A Broad Scope of Research
With research ranging from molecular studies to social biology, the department provides an opportinity for students to sample a wide variety of fields.
