This is a mandated course for all first year dental residents. In this review course of head and neck anatomy topics include development of the face and teeth, trigeminal nerve, facial nerve, vasculature and lymphatic in the head and neck, temporomandibular joint and muscles that move the mandible, maxillary sinus, infratemporal and pterygopalatine fossae, triangles of the neck, and fascial spaces. This course is taught primarily, but not exclusively, on the Internet.
This course has been established to enable the advanced student to review and then build upon his or her knowledge of the Gross Anatomy of the Head and Neck and the relationship of cranial structures to the practice of dentistry. This is a review course. All students in the course have already participated in a course in Gross Anatomy during their previous dental curriculum.
Dr. Lawrence C. Zoller is the course director and only faculty member involved with the course.
