Experimental Design and Statistics/Elementary Biostatistics (same course) is a required course for graduate students in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology along with those in the division of Graduate Medical Sciences. The course is directed by Dr. Ron Killiany.
The course will provide a working understanding of experimental design and statistical analyses that are appropriate for various types of biologically and neuroscience based experiments. Each week students will be expected to complete readings and exercises on topics of experimental design and statistical analysis. Each class session will consist of discussions of the readings and problems as well as selected lectures introducing the next topic. This course presumes that the students have had some knowledge of statistical concepts from either a graduate or an undergraduate course.
This course is primarily taught by Dr. Killiany with the assistance of various graduate students in the department for grading homework assignments.
