Peter Uhlenberg (Ph.D. University of California-Berkeley) is a Professor of Sociology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is former editor of Social Forces – International Journal of Social Research. His research interests include: demography, family, aging; demographic change and intergenerational change; population aging and social policy.

Nancy Ammerman (Ph.D. Yale University) is Professor of Sociology of Religion at Boston University and currently department chair ad interim of the Sociology Department. She is one of the foremost experts on American congregational life, as well as fundamentalist religious movements. In 1993, she served on the panel of experts convened by the U.S Justice and Treasury Departments to make recommendations in the wake of the Branch Davidian siege in Waco.

Robert Woodberry (Ph.D., University of North Carolina) is Assistant Professor in of Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include sociology of religion, political sociology, social movements, culture, comparative historical research, and quantitative methods.

John Schmalzbauer (Ph.D. Princeton University) is the Associate Professor and Blanche Gorman Strong Chair in Protestant Studies in the Department of Religious Studies at Missouri State University. His recent book, People of Faith: Religious Conviction in American Journalism and Higher Education explores the role of religion in the careers of 40 prominent journalists and academics. His research and teaching focus on the intersection of Protestantism and American culture.
