Dr. Tracy Battaglia and CCR Toolkit spotlighted in PCORI Monthly Digest
Investigators at Boston Medical Center identified two main problems there: 1) lack of an ample pool of community members representative of their diverse community to engage in the research process and/or prepared to serve as advocates, and 2) a lack of sustainable community-based communication platforms for distributing research information to their diverse urban community. With their project, “Connecting Community to Research” (CCR), they sought to create an evidence- and community-based training program targeting diverse, lay community members for engagement in research; and develop a toolkit.
