CTE Continuing Medical Education Course

  • Starts: 8:00 am on Thursday, November 9, 2017
  • Ends: 5:00 pm on Friday, November 10, 2017
Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive degenerative disease of the brain found in athletes (and others) with a history of repetitive brain trauma, including symptomatic concussions as well as asymptomatic subconcussive hits to the head. The brain degeneration is associated with memory loss, confusion, impaired judgment, impulse control problems, aggression, depression, and, eventually, progressive dementia. ‚Äč During this two day course participants will learn about all aspects of CTE including its pathology, pathophysiology, genetics, biomarkers, imaging, clinical syndromes, clinical criteria, differential diagnosis, impact on veterans and implications for the family, and what it is like to live with or worry about the disease. A poster session will be held on both days during all breaks and lunchtime. If you're interested in participating, please click on the black button below to submit an abstract. If your abstract is chosen you will be asked to present on one of the conference days. The deadline to submit an abstract is September 1st, 2017.
