Student Launch Program
Sounding Rocket Experiment
Welcome to the SPECTRE project homepage. SPECTRE, or The Student-run Program
for Exoatmospheric Collecting Technologies and Rocket Experiment is a NASA
SLP (Student Launch Program) initiative. Boston University was selected
as one of 3 out of 30 applicants in 1996 for the program, and is currently
set to launch in mid August from Wallop's Island, Virginia. By utilizing
an innovative combination of undergraduate engineering teams, faculty consultation,
and industrial partners, Boston University has helped push the envelope
in practical hands on engineering.
