Research Interests
Sarah’s research interests include the acquisition of ASL classifiers by Deaf children, first and second language acquisition by Deaf children, bilingualism,and the relationship between vocabulary knowledge in ASL and in English.  Her dissertation (in progress) is investigating the classroom discussion of ASL and English vocabulary items by teachers and students at a residential school for the Deaf, and the impact of such discussion on word learning.
