Alternative Spring Breaks 2006
Alternative Spring Breaks decided to run eight additional trips in 2006, and the CSC Ad Team was faced with the task of making sure they filled. This campaign sought to capture the attention of students by casting spring break "activities" in an atypical light. Not only did the campaign fill the program's 268 seats, it placed an additional 100 people on waitlist.

Playground Project Build Day 2006
Playground Project spent nearly two years fundraising over $50K to construct a playground at Farragut Elementary School. When it came time to make sure people were there to build it, the CSC Ad Team unleashed this campaign. The ads reminded students of the importance of play by highlighting volunteers' memories of their own childhoods. Students, alumni and staff came together on a rainy May 1, 2005 to construct the playground in memory of CSC alum deneen zarada.

Oxfam Fast for a World Harvest 2006
Oxfam is an international non-profit organization that sponsors development and disaster relief projects around the world. Its annual fast raises money to support the organization’s work and serves as an educational tool by allowing others to experience hunger for a day. The Community Service Center has been sponsoring the fast since 1986; it asks students to donate two meals from their meal plans on the day of the fast. This year’s donations totaled nearly $11,000, a seventy percent increase from the previous year’s unadvertised fast.

Service Slam Spoken Word Event 2006
The Community Service Center sponsored its first spoken word event this summer during FYSOP, when Taylor Mali performed for over 500 first-year students. This fall, the Center brought more artists to BU including Sofia Snow, AfroDZak, and Michael Brown. These ads caught the energy of the event while focusing on the importance of social activism. One artist dubbed the posters “tight” and requested a copy.
