In addition to Ashwin’s successful Ph.D. Thesis Defense yesterday, his poster at Scholars Day was also prize-worthy: he won the “Hariri Award for Innovative Computing Models, Algorithms, and Systems Research”. The poster is entitled “Exploiting Phonological Constraints for Handshape Recognition in Sign Language Video.” Congratulations twice over, Ashwin!
