Andrew received his BA in chemistry from the University of Buffalo, and his MDiv from Boston University School of Theology. Andrew Tripp completed his dissertation on how congregations in affluent urban neighborhoods care for the poor in their city. His larger area of scholarly interest is investigating how communities live out their shared stories, and how stories concretely shape the identities and practices of actual communities. Andrew examines shared stories of explicitly religious communities, as well as working with stories of communities drawn to science fiction, fantasy, and apocalyptic narratives.
