The Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation at Boston University offers a Professional Development Program (PDP) that allows you to earn PDP Hours in psychiatric rehabilitation towards continuing your education. There is no educational prerequisite for taking the Professional
Development Program options. Individuals with varied
backgrounds and experience are welcome.
There are several ways to accrue PDP Hours though our Distance Learning options and our Training options. A certificate
is awarded for PDP Hours following successful participation
in the Professional Development Program.
Continuing Education Pre-Approval
One clock hour of participation equals one PDP Hour. One PDP Hour is equivalent to one continuing education unit. PDP Hours may be used for the following accreditation organizations.
-
PDP options have been approved for continuing education units (ceu's) by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counseling Certification (CRCC) for Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC).
-
PDP options are recognized for Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors. We adhere to the NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines.
-
PDP options have been approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Social Work for continuing education credits (cec's) for LICSW, LCSW, LSW, and LSWA. Massachusetts has reciprocity with almost all of the other states in the U.S. Please check with your state to verify that they accept social work cec's from Massachusetts.
-
These training materials are accepted as continuing education hours for Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioners (CPRP) for the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Certification Program. The training content is solely the responsibility of the presenters and has not been endorsed by the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (USPRA), formerly the International Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services (IAPSRS).
-
Applications for pre-approval for other disciplines are currently in progress.
-
Boston University's policies provide for equal opportunity and affirmative action in employment and admission for all programs of the University.
