purpose of the Mental Health & Rehabilitation eCast is to
inform mental health and rehabilitation networks worldwide about
Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation events and publications,
as well as general mental health and rehabilitation news.
The
development and dissemination of this eCast is jointly supported
by the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), Substance Abuse
and Mental Health Services Administration, Department of Health
and Human Services and the National Institute on Disability and
Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), Department of Education.

Frequently Asked Questions By Educators and Employers Now Available
as Downloadable PDF Files
Two
booklets entitled "Frequently Asked Questions By Educators
About Students with Psychiatric Disabilities" and "Frequently
Asked Questions About Employees with Psychiatric Disabilities"
have been updated and are available for download on the Center's
web site. The educators' booklet provides tips and resources related
to the Rehabilitation Act, the ADA, academic adjustments, and
supports. The employers' booklet highlights tips and resources
related to the ADA, job accommodations, and supervision:

Do You Need Options for Continuing Education?
Most
professionals in the mental health and rehabilitation field must
fulfill requirements for continuing education to update licensure
and certification. The Center's Professional Development Program
(PDP) provides varied options for continuing education. Self-Paced
Study options include Books & Tests as well as Internet Courses.
Training options include workshops, our upcoming international
conference, and
the Certificate Program for Psychiatric Vocational Rehabilitation
as well as specialized training provided by the Center's affiliate,

Discrimination and Stigma

newly funded Resource Center to Address Discrimination and Stigma
is available to assist individuals and public and private organizations
in the design, implementation, and operation of programs and campaigns
to reduce stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness.

and
Spanish staff to assist you and your organization.
