The
purpose of this Mental Health & Rehabilitation eCast is to
inform mental health and rehabilitation networks worldwide about
the activities and resources produced by the Center for Psychiatric
Rehabilitation as well as to disseminate general mental health
and rehabilitation news. This eCast is jointly supported by the
Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), Substance Abuse and
Mental Health Services Administration and the National Institute
on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), Department
of Education.

Take Time to Register for the Psychiatric Rehabilitation
Skill Development Interventions Seminar -- in Boston!
The
Professional Development Program (PDP) in psychiatric
rehabilitation is offering a five-day training seminar on the
Boston University campus beginning June 3rd. This seminar in Psychiatric
Rehabilitation Skill Development Interventions includes Direct
Skills Teaching and Skills Programming and offers practitioners
an opportunity to enhance their capabilities to provide psychiatric
rehabilitation interventions to consumers in a variety of mental
health program settings--residential, educational, vocational,
and social. The deadline for registration is May 23rd.

Self-Determination Workshop to be held in
Chicago on May 31, 2002
Sponsored
by the RTC on Psychiatric Disability at the University of Illinois
at Chicago, this one-day workshop will address self-management
and wellness for people who live with psychiatric disabilities
and features nationally known speakers Mary Ellen Copeland and
Suzanne Vogel-Scibilia. More detailed information and registration
