The
purpose of this Mental Health & Rehabilitation eCast is to
inform mental health and rehabilitation networks worldwide about
the activities and resources produced by the Center for Psychiatric
Rehabilitation as well as to disseminate general mental health
and rehabilitation news. This eCast is jointly supported by the
Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), Substance Abuse and
Mental Health Services Administration and the National Institute
on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), Department
of Education.

Poster Session Deadline Extended!
The deadline to submit a proposal for the Poster Session at the
Center's International Conference -- Innovations in Recovery and
Rehabilitation: The Decade of the Person -- has been extended
to March 30, 2002. All submissions are welcome.

Learn to Facilitate a Recovery Workshop
The Center is pleased to announce a newly created Professional
Development Program (PDP) Internet course, Facilitating A Recovery
Workshop. This self-paced Internet course delivers the knowledge
and skills necessary to run recovery-oriented groups using the
Recovery Workbook and accompanying Leader's Guide. Registrants
have the option to use the 45 PDP hours earned to fulfill continuing
education requirements. For information on credit approval for

Article: Unique Issues in Assessing Work Function
"Unique issues in assessing work function among individuals
with psychiatric disabilities" authored by MacDonald-Wilson,
Rogers, and Anthony examines the current literature to identify
valid and reliable methods to assess the ability of people with
psychiatric disabilities to work. The authors also look at the
predictors of work functioning in relation to psychiatric disabilities
and suggest implications for both policy and research.
