The Boston
University Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation is pleased to
announce the launch of our Mental Health & Rehabilitation
eCast. This service is designed to provide the latest information
regarding programs and events occurring at the Center and within
the fields of mental health and rehabilitation.
The development
and dissemination of this eCast is jointly supported by the Center
for Mental Health Services (CMHS), Substance Abuse and Mental
Health Services Administration and the National Institute on Disability
and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), Department of Education.
First and
foremost, the Center wishes to thank our international colleagues
for their offers of concern and support regarding the recent tragedies
experienced by American citizens. Your expressions of solidarity
help us to remember that we are all part of a global community.

Boston in the fall:
The Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation will host seven workshops
in Boston this fall: Discover how the Social Security Work Incentives
affect a person's decision to work; Learn how to integrate the
recovery process into existing mental health programs. Registration

Exciting training option:
The Certificate Program in Psychiatric Vocational Rehabilitation
is designed to enhance the skills of vocational service providers,
and is now accepting applications for its fifth class starting

IAPSRS Toolkit:
A recently published article entitled "The IAPSRS Toolkit:
Development, Utility, and Relation to other Performance Measurement
Systems" appeared in the Summer 2001 of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation
Journal. Authored by Paul Arns, E. Sally Rogers, Judith Cook,
Carol Mowbray, and members of the IAPSRS Research Committee, this
article describes an outcome measurement system that documents
the
achievements of service recipients in psychosocial rehabilitation
programs and monitors progress toward recovery. For article abstract,
