The Clearinghouse provides information on a wide range of self-help groups as well as state and local self-help clearinghouses. Staff can provide consultation on starting new types of self-help networks or groups.

Provides information on anxiety disorders and makes referrals to local support groups for people with anxiety disorders.

Provides information, referral and technical assistance related to psychosocial rehabilitation for persons with serious mental illness. Includes vocational training, supported employment and comprehensive community services. Can direct individuals to local agencies assisting people with psychiatric disabilities to pursue further education and employment.

Provides information on mental illnesses, and referrals to local support groups for people with mental illnesses and for their family members.

A consumer-run organization that supplies information on consumer/ex-patient/survivor issues, particularly electroconvulsive therapy (ECT); provides referrals to self-help groups.

The National Association of Protection and Advocacy Systems is the membership association of the directors of three federally funded programs: the Protection and Advocacy Systems (P&As) for persons with developmental disabilities and the P&As for persons with mental illness, both of which provide legal advocacy for clients; and the Client Assistance Program (CAP), which assists clients of vocational rehabilitation services with eligibility and legal problems.

Provides technical assistance to state and local mental health authorities on legislative issues, policies, practices and funding sources for mental health programs that serve adults and children.

Provides individual and family support groups, advocacy, and educational materials, on manic depressive and depressive disorders.

A consumer-run technical assistance center which supplies information on consumer/ex-patient/survivor issues and also maintains a data base of local self-help groups.

National resource for information on mental illnesses, implementation of the ADA, and legislative issues related to mental disabilities. There are over 400 affiliates that employers can contact as local resources. Publishes a manual for employers on the ADA and people with mental illness.

Supplies information on stigma, discrimination, employment issues, and provides referrals to support groups.

A consumer-run technical assistance organization which offers information on the ADA, conflict resolution and consumer/ex-patient/survivor issues, as well as referrals to self-help groups. Also supplies speakers for panels or for sensitivity training programs, and organizes national conferences.

Coordinates independent agencies in each state which provide technical assistance, information and referral on ADA and other disability laws.
