Authors
LeRoy Spaniol, PhD, retired in 2004 as Senior Director at the Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation. He holds a doctoral degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and has 41 years of experience in the mental health field as counselor, advocate, program developer, administrator, and educator. Dr. Spaniol was the Founder and Executive Publisher of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Journal and is currently a Consulting Editor for the Journal. He has taught as an Adjunct Full Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Counseling at Boston University. He also founded and taught in the Recovery Center, a rehabilitation program for people with psychiatric disabilities at the Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation. He is currently President of NAMI of Cape Cod and serves on the Affordable Housing Committee for the Town of Wellfleet, MA. Dr. Spaniol has published 18 books and many book chapters and articles about psychiatric rehabilitation, recovery, and families.
Richard Bellingham, EdD, is the CEO and founder of iobility, a New Jersey based consulting firm specializing in aligning human and organizational capabilities behind the corporate mission, vision, and values. He has more than 25 years of experience working in the areas of organizational learning, leadership development, team development, and organizational transformation. Dr. Bellingham has been highly effective in leading management teams to align corporate culture with business strategy, building intellectual capital, and coaching executives on how to lead change. In addition, he has authored more than 50 books, articles, manuals, and training guides.
Barry Cohen, PhD, is the executive vice president for strategic services and partners at PTC. Dr. Cohen is responsible for PTC’s global human resources, customer care, technical support, enterprise consulting partners, global services consulting and operations, Product First™ practice and education services. Dr. Cohen joined PTC in January 1998 when PTC acquired Computervision. Prior to the acquisition, he served with Computervision for four years as senior vice president for human development and organizational productivity. Before joining Computervision, Dr. Cohen was the president of Possibilities Inc., an executive consulting firm specializing in organizational change and executive coaching, where he served for thirteen years. Dr. Cohen has authored or co-authored several books on leadership and organizational change, including The Wellness Sourcebook, Ethical Leadership, Leadership Myths and Realities, and The Possibilities Economy: New Capital Development. He has also published many professional articles and a series of training manuals.
Susan Spaniol, EdD, is an artist, art therapist, and art therapy educator. She was an Associate Professor in the Expressive Therapies Division at Lesley University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she served as Coordinator of their Art Therapy Program and Senior PhD Advisor in their Doctoral Program. Dr. Spaniol has published and presented internationally on issues related to advocacy through art for people with severe mental illnesses, and was Associate Editor of Art Therapy Journal of the American Art Therapy Association for five years. Currently an MFA student at The Massachusetts College of Art, her artwork has been exhibited in numerous juried exhibitions, won several awards, and is in several private collections.
