Training and Technical Assistance To Enhance Supported Education Outcomes in Post Secondary Institutions

Overview
The purpose of this project is to provide Supported Education (SEd) training and technical assistance to Disability Support Service (DSS) practitioners to better address the service needs of students with psychiatric disabilities. An established Workgroup including DSS experts, a SEd consumer/provider and a SEd researcher will work collaboratively to review and refine existing Supported Education materials for use in training at four academic institutions. Technical assistance activities will identify and address critical organizational barriers that impeded DSS service use. A listserve will be created for project participants/trainees to support problem solving and networking opportunities throughout Year 2 and Year 3 of the project.

Development and Evaluation of an Anti-stigma/Discrimination Technical Assistance Process for the Workplace

Overview
The focus of the technical assistance process will be on one of the environmental/contextual factors related to recovery, stigma and discrimination. The project will develop and pilot a technical assistance process in two organizations (Kelly Services and Riverside Community Care) to reduce stigma and discrimination through a participatory process in order to increase a sense of ownership of the process. The process will be revised and then conducted in its final form in the E. Romani Corporation. A preliminary evaluation will be conducted.
