Goldman School of Dental Medicine – Construction Update – 7/2/20

During the weekend of July 4:

  • There will be no work on the GSDM site this weekend.

During the week starting July 6:

  • There will be no night-shift work this week.
  • Inside the building, installation of new framing for the existing bathrooms will resume on the fifth and sixth floors of the existing building. Drywall installation will begin this week on the first three floors and will continue to follow framing up through the existing building. Plumbing piping will be installed in the fifth- and seventh-floor bathrooms located in the existing building this week. Installation of overhead piping, ductwork, and wiring will resume in the bathroom on the fourth floor of the existing building and will continue upward through the building on the remaining three floors.
  • In the fifth-floor existing Patient Treatment Center, installation of electrical systems and plumbing within the ceilings will continue.
  • Upgrades to the existing elevators will continue, with initial work in the elevator machine room on the penthouse level. Over the next couple of weeks, workers will make modifications to the roof to support the new openings for ductwork and will then install the mechanical ductwork itself. This work will be followed by the installation of associated lighting, fire alarms, and power in the elevator machine room.
