News
24 June 2009
Notes from Los Alamos. Recently, Gerald Denis attended a week long training flow cytometry training session in Los Alamos, NM. Gerald reported that the techniques and equipment being used and in development are "mind blowing". Gerald has provided the information he gathered at the training session and we have posted it in a new section of this site. Please look at and comment on this information.
Changes to Online Scheduling Application. We have begun using the online scheduling application for two new purposes, 1) to inform users of issues (good and bad) with respect to the equipment. 2) We've added a comment log to each schedule. Please use the logs to report anything you wish. The logs will be monitored daily, and issues will be addressed as soon as possible.
FlowJo in L508A. We have installed a copy of the latest FlowJo analysis software on the Mac workstation in L508A.
New Rates as of May 2009. Two changes to the FCCF rate structure took effect on 1 May 2009. All base rates increased by $5.00/hr and the analysis workstations are now billed at a rate of $10/hr for BUMC personnel, $15/hr for non-BUMC personnel.
The LSRII HTS is still down. The parts have been ordered and we hope to have it running this week.
As always, please remember to acknowledge the BUMC FCCF in your publications, seminars, etc. One of the most important measures of FCCF productivity is its assistance to user’s productivity, specifically in the form of public display of data. Furthermore, please inform the BUMC FCCF of any acknowledgements that you may give to it. Two examples of an acknowledgment are: “The authors acknowledge the assistance of the Boston University Medical Campus Flow Cytometry Core Facility and Yanhui Deng for cell sorting” or “All flow cytometric data were acquired using equipment maintained by the Boston University Medical Campus Flow Cytometry Core Facility”.
ONLINE SCHEDULING: See the menu at the top of this page to access the scheduling system.
